Introduction

syne.studio is a browser-based digital audio workstation (DAW) with realtime collaboration. It removes much of the tedium of setting up a production environment, and frees you to focus on making music. It’s a platform where musicians, producers, and audio engineers can create sound anywhere, with anyone.

Collaborators can work on a project simultaneously, and any changes they make will be synchronized in real-time.

If you’re inspired by a project but the author doesn’t want to collaborate, you can always “remix” it. This will copy it to your account while giving the original author credit. This policy of public and remixable projects by default is inspired by the open source software community, and is designed to make learning from other musicians and growing as an artist easier.

Syne is free to use, and will always have a generous free tier. Professional production tools are traditionally very expensive, and we aim to make them more accessible for everyone. We plan to eventually offer a Pro plan with features like:

• Tools to make it easier to release projects
